 as created renewed interest in how health systems are financed and how
  these allocations are distributed. Donors, activists, policy makers a
 nd academics are all concerned with ensuring that service users do no
 t suffer financial hardship when accessing health care. But where is a
  gender analysis in all of this?\n\nWe know that health financing and 
 reforms have gender implications, for example, in the budgets availabl
 e for gender audits, the extent of financial protection for different 
 groups, the availability of certain services, and the out-of-pocket ex
 penditures of different groups. This webinar seeks to share informatio
 n on the available evidence and highlight some of the information gaps
 .  We hope it will stimulate a wider conversation among health secto
 r stakeholders who are concerned with social justice. Please join our

 n\n\n​Rob Yates (Senior Fellow at Chatham House) will open the webi
 nar with an overview of health financing and Universal Health Coverage
 . \n​Sophie Witter (Professor of International Health Financing an
 d Health Systems at the Institute for International Health and Develop
 ment, Queen Margaret University, working in the ReBUILD consortium) wi
 ll set out some of the gendered questions related to health financing 
 and the gaps in the health literature.\n​Veloshnee Govender (Resear
 cher/lecturer at the Health Economics Unit at the University of Cape T
 own) will dig deeper into the literature to explore the gender and hea
 lth implications of health financing reforms.\n​TK Sundari Ravindran
  (Professor at the Achutha Menon Centre for Health Science Studies, S
 ree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Indi
 a) will provide lessons on health sector reforms and gender from Indi
 a, and give some lessons for Universal Health Coverage.\n​Sarah Ssal
 i (Senior Lecturer, School of Women and Gender Studies, Makerere Uni
 versity, Uganda) will act as a discussant, commenting on the points ma
 de by the panelists, while drawing on her own experiences in relation
