 €¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦.\r\nWhe
ther by a private company, an international NGO, a national or local g
overnment, or a philanthropic organisation, the effectiveness of effor
ts to address gender inequality cannot be monitored or evaluated if so
lid data is not available. Areas of intersection, such as the dispropo
rtionate effect of the COVID-19 or climate crises on women, are woeful
ly understudied and undercounted, meaning that targeted interventions
cannot be designed. Likewise, long term cause and effect such as discr
iminatory social institutions or the impact of infertility on national
GDP cannot be analysed without consistent and accurate access to open
gender data. More and better gender data can lead to better solutions
and improve accountability; solutions that have the power to unlock
$3 trillion in economic potential across the global economy.\r\n \r\
nThis DEV Talk will bring together experts and private sector and gove
rnment representatives, to discuss why the lack of data about women’
s lives and livelihoods around the world persists despite recent effor
ts and a global recognition of the importance of the issue. They will
explore what can be done to increase awareness, prioritisation, and su
pport from multilateral partnerships to unlock the potential of gender
data for the COVID-19 recovery and beyond.\r\nRegister https://meeto
