DESCRIPTION:We are very excited to announce that in two weeks' time, o
 n July 13th, we'll be hosting a session on Participatory Grantmaking 
 & Impact on Community Movement Building  - sharing out research from
  Ford-funded grants.\r\n  In 2019, the Ford Foundation funded one of
  the first efforts to collect quantitative and qualitative data about 
 participatory practices – including grantmaking – in philanthropy.
  Nine research projects, specifically, were supported (see HERE for 
 an overview) to help better understand the value, challenges, and outc
 omes of participatory philanthropy and, ultimately, strengthen the inf
 rastructure and evidence base behind it.\r\nThis session will look at 
 how three organizations evaluated their use of participatory processes
  and decisions, specifically, whether and to what extent these contrib
 uted to strengthening the community organizing and movement building e
 fforts of each organization, as well as their respective issues (LGBTQ
