 l plan of action to strengthen the role of the health system within a 
 national multisectoral response to address interpersonal violence, in 
 particular against women and girls and against children, WHO convenes 
 this webinar exploring how to provide an integrated SRHR/HIV health se
 ctor response to violence against women and girls.\n \nWith one in th
 ree women globally experiencing intimate partner violence and/or sexua
 l violence by a non-partner, the “Global plan of action to strengthe
 n the role of the health system within a national multisectoral respon
 se to address interpersonal violence, in particular against women and 
 girls and against children” (http://www.who.int/topics/violence/UNFP
 A-GAP2-violence.pdf)  provides a strong mandate to address violence a
 gainst women and girls as a global and urgent public health problem.\n
  \nThe plan provides guidance for Ministries of Health to accelerate 
 the implementation of the health sector’s contribution to end violen
 ce against women and girls. Further, the plan contributes towards the 
 achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals including Goal 5 (Ach
 ieve Gender Equality and Empower All Women and Girls) and Goal 16 (Pro
 mote Peace, Justice and Inclusive Societies), as well as Goal 3 (ensur
 e healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages). It will a
