UN Women Generation Equality Compendium of Lessons Learned 2026

I am pleased to share the UN Women Generation Equality Compendium of Lessons Learned 2026, which I had the honor to lead and author under the leadership of Alice Shackelford, UN Womenโ€™s UN System Coordination Division, Officer in Charge (Director).

This publication captures five years of implementation (2021โ€“2026) from one of the most ambitious global efforts to advance gender equality.

Backed by evidence:

๐Ÿ”น 2,500+ commitments
๐Ÿ”น USD 50.3 billion pledged
๐Ÿ”น USD 21+ billion in reported expenditures.

A key finding: Accelerating gender equality requires:

๐Ÿ”น New ways of working together
๐Ÿ”น Accountability for learning and decision-making
๐Ÿ”น Institutionalized collective ambition.

Sustainable financing, shared leadership, and feminist and youth leadership remain central to lasting change.

Personally, this work has been a reminder that learning is not just about documenting progress; it is about shaping the future of how we deliver change, together.

Thank you very much in advance for your time and consideration.
