What is gender assessment? What is gender analysis? How and why do we do them?Inclusion is key to preventing and addressing human rights abuses. Without the participation of women and other marginalized groups and the consideration of gender perspectives we will not be addressing the issues effectively and comprehensively. Gender assessment and analysis help us reach these goals by ensuring inclusive programming.
Members of the PROGRESS consortium will discuss their approach to gender, with a spotlight on the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative’s new Status of Women Assessment Tool. Speakers include Julie Arostegui LeMaster, Senior Gender and Inclusion Advisor for PROGRESS at Freedom House, and Paulina Rudnicka, Advisor and co-chair of ABA ROLI’s Gender Practice Group.
