Launching 'Livelihood Strategies' : A Knowledge Bank of Sustainable Livelihood Interventions

Launching livelihoodstrategies.org

Everyday in our endeavors as development professionals, researchers, policy makers, government representatives. we come across strategies that work for the poor, and some which don't. However there are lessons to be learned from all of these interventions.  The Development CAFE has started a Knowledge Bank to record and document list of both macro and micro level sustainable livelihood interventions around the world. The purpose of this portal is to serve as a 'quick reference' data bank to learn from others successes as well as failures in implementing livelihood interventions for the poor.

We envision the site will be used by people like you to record your successes as well as lessons learned in the field in implementing your projects on livelihood improvement. So if some one else is planning a similar activity they can visit the site and learn from you, or connect and collaborate with you.

So visit the site today and post your interventions. The site is a living document with crowd sourced information using the Ushahidi platform.

We are now launching the Beta version any feedback on improvement of the site, addition of categories etc, please do not hesitate to contact us through the website contact form or directly mailing us livelihoods (at) dev-cafe (dot) org

Here is the portal:

http://www.livelihoodstrategies.org

The more of you use it, the more we know how to improve it and keep it active. so please forward this message to your networks.

Kind regards,

Team DevCAFE
