F Njahîra Wangarî - Book Chapter

Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

Gender Equality Measurement - Call for Abstracts

Dear EvalGender members, 

The International Sociological Association's World Congress of Sociology will be held in Melbourne Australia from 25 June to 1 July 2023. 

There is an interesting session being organized on Gender Equality Measurement:

We encourage the EvalGender members to submit abstracts (we don't need to submit full papers). The Congress will be held both in person and online. The deadline is fast approaching - 30 September 2022.
