Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

The Ivorian Initiative for Evaluation (2IEval) in Collaboration with CAPEC (Political and Economic Analysis Unit) of CIRES (Ivorian Economic and Social Research Centre) has launched the first edition of the Ivorian Golden Award for Excellence in Evaluation.

LAUNCH, OF THE FIRST EDITION OF EXCELLENCE AWARD "GOLDEN EVALUATION" IN COTE D’IVOIRE
To celebrate 2015, the International Year of Evaluation, a major event, the Ivorian Initiative for Evaluation (2IEval) in Collaboration with the CAPEC (Political and Economic Analysis Unit) of CIRES (Ivorian Economic and Social Research Centre) and Under the High Patronage of Dr. Albert Toikeusse MABRI, Minister of State, Minister of Planning and Development of Côte d’Ivoire, has launched the first edition of the Ivorian Golden Award for Excellence in Evaluation.
The jury of the Award chaired by Prof. AHOURE Alban, interim Director of The Political and Economic Analysis Unit of CIRES (CAPEC) has been officially confirmed by Prof. GBAKOU Monné, the representative of Dr. Albert Toikeusse MABRI, Minister of State, Minister of Planning and Development of Côte d’Ivoire.
Samuel KOUAKOU, Commissioner General of the Award, presented the well-founded EvalPartners initiative during the ceremony hosted on Thursday, February 19, 2015, in Hotel Ibis, Abidjan, Plateau (Côte d’Ivoire) : http://news.abidjan.net/h/526692.html
In addition, Samuel KOUAKOU through 2IEval, intends to institutionalize in Côte d'Ivoire an award of excellence “Golden Evaluation” for distinguishing projects and programs that integrate monitoring and evaluation in operation, as well as researchers or institutions that marked the year by the quality of their work, product and innovation, on an annual basis.
Several 2015 International Evaluation Ambassadors were designed from local Partners to help disseminate information about EvalYear and further promote Evaluation policies in their respective organization.
