F Njahîra Wangarî - Book Chapter

Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

Documentation of case studies of National Evaluation Policies in selected countries

I am happy to share that documentation of case studies of National Evaluation Policies in selected countries is completed by the Katerina Stolyarenko, NEP expert. They are available online http://www.pfde.net/index.php/publications-resources/2014-02-28-19-... and some of them are translated in to other languages thanks to UN volunteer online translators. The key elements for National Evaluation Policy is also published http://www.pfde.net/images/pdf/MNEP.pdf The resources were developed under the Innovation Challenge project supported by EvalPartners and the project component was jointly implemented by Parliamentarians Forum for Development Evaluation (PFDE) and Pakistan Evaluation Network (PEN). Case studies and "key elements of NEPs" documents will be used first time at the "South Asia Regional Consultation on National Evaluation Policies" organized by PFDE with support from EvalPartners, IOCE and in collaboration with SLEvA. The consultation will be held from 18-19 September in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Hope these resources will be useful for NEP development at country level achieving EvalYear aspirations. This resource pool will be more benefited once EvalPartners' guidelines on "Engendering NEPs" is also published. Hope we will be lucky to hear establishment of NEPs from many countries in 2015 which will contribute to enabling environment for evaluation.
