The article, led by Linnea Zimmerman examines how opportunity structures (parental influence and neighborhood context) affects individual agency among boys and girls in Kinshasa, DRC. We used longitudinal data to identify three distinct groups for boys and girls in each domain. Parental monitoring was associated with the development of both domains for boys, but showed no association for girls. Conversely, parental closeness was more strongly associated with development for girls, than for boys. Neighborhood safety was associated with greater Voice and Freedom of Movement for both boys and girls.

Dear All,
Greetings!
My name is Puneet Gupta and I work as a Quantitative Researcher under the Monitoring and Evaluations vertical at Catalyst Management Services Pvt. Ltd. I am presently working on impact evaluation of Breakthrough's Early Marriage programme. Breakthrough’s intervention is primarily a media campaign that is targeted at young men and boys and tries to replace prevailing notions and messages about the value of the girl child, the desire to restrict her mobility and decision-making power, with notions that see women and girls as equal contributors to the household.
I was doing some literature review and came across multi-level modelling as a methodology to evaluate programmes where the certain estimators have a hierarchical structure. I read some of the studies online and want delve deeper into this. It would be of great help if any of you could share your experiences or resources you might have on the same.
Thanks in advance!
Best Regards,
Puneet Gupta
