Evaluation of UN Women’s Work on the Care Economy in East and Southern Africa

A regional study of gender equality observatories in West and Central Africa, carried out by Claudy Vouhé for UN Women

Sources: UN Women

This regional study offers an inventory and analysis of the legal framework of gender observatories, their attributions, functions and missions. It is based on exchanges with 21 countries, in particular the eleven countries that have created observatories. It compares the internal organisation and budgets of the observatories between countries, looks at operational practices, in particular the degree of involvement in the collection and use of data, and identifies obstacles and good practices in terms of influencing pro-gender equality public policies. Finally, the study draws up a list of strategic recommendations intended for observatories, supervisory bodies and technical and financial partners.

Thanks for sharing. I tried google translate-

Participatory diagnosis on accountability of Civil Society Organizations, where it was stated that social change is a process of deep reflections and criticism based on the examination of the community reality of the people and our country. In this regard, Salvador Quincain of the Council of Principals of San Pedro Atitlán affirmed: “We must all harmonize our ideas and principles from our family. In the Community Councils we must implement it fully. Making the effort to be in the public space to start transforming them ... since the lack of honesty has legitimized corruption in Guatemala. Let's take advantage of the territory of our ancestral authorities ... they are legitimate authority and with their values and principles we strengthen the good and throw away the bad. The dialogue path can transform the country from below. ”
