F Njahîra Wangarî - Book Chapter
Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

The Global Evaluation Initiative (GEI) is supporting YEEs in the context of the gLOCAL Evaluation Week, through providing "Evaluation Activation Sessions for Emerging Young Evaluators". This project is the result of a partnership between GEI, EvalYouth, The World Bank Independent Evaluation Group, The Global Evaluation Initiative, UNFPA, the European Evaluation Society (EES), IDEAS, and a wide range of universities and regional VOPEs. It consists of a training program designed to accelerate the career development of young evaluators, which will take place during gLocal Evaluation Week (from May 31 - June 4), in five languages (English, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, and Arabic).
Over the last months, the initiative partners have mapped 20 frequently asked questions asked by young people on how to develop their careers. We are inviting high-level figures of the M&E community to help us answer these questions through two training sessions and a series of videos that will be launched during gLocal Evaluation Week.
The P2p+ MENA hub will host two sessions in Arabic, the first on May 31, 2021, and the second on June 4, 2021. Here is the website in case you want to know more
