Event Description

COVID-19 has had devastating impacts on education around the world, affecting more than 1.6 billion students and leaving 11 million girls at risk of permanently dropping out of school. In many communities, local organizations are finding innovative ways to cope with these challenges. They are helping students without reliable internet attend virtual lessons, launching educational radio programs, and developing teaching materials for families.

Join a global conversation on education during COVID-19 to discuss these issues – and how we can build a more equitable world after the pandemic – with young female leaders from across the globe. During this webinar, you will hear directly from 16- to 20-year-olds involved with four GFC partner organizations: Local Education and Economic Development Organization (LEEDO) in Bangladesh, Un Mundo in Honduras, Oasis Mathare in Kenya, and CREA in Nicaragua. Sunga Kufeyani, GFC’s Youth Leadership Council Secretary and the Co-Founder of Loving Arms Malawi, will moderate the discussion.
