F Njahîra Wangarî - Book Chapter

Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

Parliamentarians Forum for Development Evaluation publishes “Mapping Status of National Evaluation Policies” final report.

“Mapping Status of National Evaluation Policies”, a global study on evaluation policies at country level which started in Aug 2013 was commissioned by Parliamentarians Forum for Development Evaluation jointly with EvalPartners. The study was conducted by Dr. Barbara Rosenstein who is currently academic adviser to the Evaluation Unit at Kaye Academic College in Beer Sheva, Israel and was on the expert team for the NCERT, Evaluation Capacity Building Project in Delhi, India. She is a founding member and current chairperson of the Israeli Association for Program Evaluation and was on the first board of the International Organization for Cooperation in Evaluation. Dr. Rosenstein has published articles on teaching evaluation, evaluation capacity building, reflective thinking, and evaluation methods. We would like to thank Dr. Rosenstein and all the people who provided valuable information for this study.

The final report of the study is now available and this was an initial step to document preliminary information about national evaluation policies and systems at country level. We believe there may be more fruitful information to be added and hope readers will share more updated information which can be reflected in the next version. Also we are planning to use this as an advocacy tool to promote national evaluation policy and systems discussion.

Enjoy the report!
