My name is Amanda Mack and I am a graduate student at the University of Victoria. I am contacting you as I'm conducting research on the Feminist International Assistance Policy (FIAP) and I saw that MEDA has received funds from Canada for initiatives in a number of countries.
I am working on a research project which analyzes evaluations conducted on projects which have been funded under FIAP, such as the one that you have implemented. Specifically, this research project will be attempting to answer the following questions:
1. How are organizations conducting evaluations under the FIAP?
2. Are feminist evaluation principles reflected in the evaluations conducted under the FIAP? If so, how are they being used?
Through this research, the literature on feminist evaluation will be advanced and a critical examination of the FIAP will be completed with the intention of ensuring that FIAP is a useful and meaningful feminist tool in Canada’s international assistance agenda.
As a participant of this research, you would provide access to an evaluation report on the project and a staff member would commit to a 1 hour interview. The interview can be conducted over the telephone or via a teleconference software, as is your preference. Confidentiality will be maintained and this research project has been approved by the Human Research Ethics Board (HREB).
If you would be able to participate in this research project, please let me know and we can schedule a quick call to discuss any questions you may have. Your participation is greatly valued.
