Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

On August 3, 2017, Mr. Imbassou Ouattara Abbas was awarded the Special "Gold Evaluation" Prize of the Ivorian Initiative for Evaluation (2IEval), for his significant contribution to the promotion of the practice of evaluation in Côte d'Ivoire, which made it possible to integrate the evaluation into the Ivorian constitution of 2016.
It was on the occasion of the 3rd edition of the Evaluation Excellence Award of the Ivorian Initiative for Evaluation led by the Commissioner General of the Prize, Samuel Kouakou.
Indeed, it was under his initiative (Hon. Imbassou) and that of the deputy Netro Tagbo René that articles 93 and 117 were incorporated into the constitution. Article 93 stipulates that "Parliament shall pass the law and shall pay the tax. It controls government action and evaluates public policy. " Article 117, which is the personal initiative of Mr Imbasou Ouattara, stipulates that "the means of informing the parliament with regard to governmental action are the oral question, the written question, the committee Investigation and the evaluation mission.
The lucky recipient did not fail to express all his joy for this award that was awarded to him. "It is a feeling of pride that honors the entire National Assembly. I would like to congratulate the President of the Assembly and all the Members who have been involved so that we can, in the name of all Members who are sensitive to the question of the evaluation of public policies, The question of the evaluation of public policies. It is immense and the honor goes to the Ivorian parliament, "he said on this occasion.
On behalf of the recipients, Imbassou Ouattara also thanked 2IEVAL for this recognition to all those who make an effort every day to make public policy evaluation a reality in Côte d'Ivoire, Technical team of the Network of African Parliamentarians for Development Evaluation (APNODE), through the secretariat of the Independent Evaluation Unit (IDEV) of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Support to Ivorian parliamentarians.
For the lucky recipient, the challenge is to make, together with experts in public evaluation, a proposal for a law evaluating public policies in Côte d'Ivoire, as in many African countries. During this award ceremony, Mr. Imbassou Ouattara received the support of parliamentarians.
