F Njahîra Wangarî - Book Chapter

Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

Event Description

GPSDD and GIZ would like to invite you to a webinar on Monday, 31st of August 2:30-4pm Nairobi time.
During this webinar, we will present a CGD guide for non-state actors in Kenya, who are keen to produce CGD that can be used for policy and decision-making, but also to complement official statistics. The content of the guide can be applied to non-state actors beyond Kenya.
The guidelines were developed because of expressed demand from both state and non-state actors in Kenya, and is a buildup from the guidelines we published in 2019- Choosing and engaging with citizen generated data
