Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is not just a social issue, it’s a systemic challenge that undermines agricultural value chains.
In rural and isolated areas, GBV threatens women’s safety, limits their economic participation, and weakens food security. When women cannot work safely, entire communities lose resilience, and businesses lose productivity. Climate resilience strategies that overlook gendered risks leave communities exposed and women vulnerable.
Ending GBV is essential for building equitable, sustainable, and climate-resilient agri-food systems; and it’s not only a human rights imperative, but also central to climate adaptation and economic stability.
The good news? Solutions work. Programs like the Women’s Safety Accelerator Fund (WSAF) demonstrate that addressing GBV can enhance productivity and strengthen workforce morale and brand reputation. Safe, inclusive workplaces aren’t just good ethics, they’re smart business.

Event Description
EES is excited to announce the launch of first webinar series “Emerging Data Landscapes in M&E.” In partnership with Dev CAFÉ/span>https://www.dev-cafe.org/
The first event will take place on 28 July, (9:00 EST) and will focus on “Geospatial, location and big data: Where have we been and where can we go?”
This interactive and free webinar will provide concrete examples of using geospatial and location data to improve our M&E practices. It will also discuss the barriers to using such technologies and brainstorm on ways to overcome them, by inviting feedback and questions from the online audience.
It will include speakers from the World Bank IEG, the European Commission’s DEVCO/ESS, and the Global Environment Facility. You can find more information in the webinar agenda/span>http://www.czech-in.org
