Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

UNESCO’s Evaluation Office is looking for a consultant firm for the Evaluation of the International Convention against Doping in Sport, where UNESCO holds the Executive Secretariat.
The evaluation will assess the current progress of the Convention and will consider a way forward for the Convention in its dimensions and position within the sport ecosystem as well as its capacity to adapt and respond to emerging challenges.
The evaluation is planned for October 2024 – April 2025. Interested companies who wish to participate in the Open International Competition (OIC) must request for a complete set of Solicitation Documents, available free of charge, to:
