The article, led by Linnea Zimmerman examines how opportunity structures (parental influence and neighborhood context) affects individual agency among boys and girls in Kinshasa, DRC. We used longitudinal data to identify three distinct groups for boys and girls in each domain. Parental monitoring was associated with the development of both domains for boys, but showed no association for girls. Conversely, parental closeness was more strongly associated with development for girls, than for boys. Neighborhood safety was associated with greater Voice and Freedom of Movement for both boys and girls.

Request for Proposals: UNICEF formative regional evaluation on adolescents in South Asia -- 25 November 2014 deadline

Dear all,

UNICEF's Regional Office for South Asia (ROSA) seeks to identify a consultancy firm or agency to design and manage a formative regional evaluation of UNICEF’s contribution to the empowerment and rights fulfilment of adolescents in South Asia.  The evaluation – covering all eight countries of South Asia – will be contracted in 2014, and is to be conducted during the first half of 2015.

The Request for Proposals (RFP) for the formative evaluation was issued on 10 November 2014.  It can be accessed as follows:  https://www.ungm.org/Public/Notice/30412 or http://reliefweb.int/job/713316/formative-regional-evaluation-unice....

The deadline for submission of offers is 25 November 2014, in line with the instructions to bidders detailed in the RFP.

Your support in bringing the RFP to the attention of qualified bidders would be highly appreciated.

Thank you and kind regards.
