F Njahîra Wangarî - Book Chapter

Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

Systems Thinking: prioritizing gender, marginalized voices and ecologies

Hi all

Ellen Lewis and I are working with UN Women's Evaluation Specialists to develop a gender-sensitive and systemic guidance for evaluation practice. We have set up a discussion group so that we can interact with people about this. I know that people have strong feelings about this because evaluation practice has such potential to create responsive and lasting change. So join the group. Respond to our questions or ask your own. We look forward to, and really want to, hear from you.

Cheers

Anne & Ellen
