Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

COVID-19 and Persons with Disabilities: Livelihood, Violence Risk and the Response of Persons with Disabilities and their Representative Organisations in Bangladesh, Uganda and Cambodia
Please join us as we share findings on the response to and impact of COVID-19 among persons with disabilities from a large collaborative effort with 218 members of Organisations of Persons with Disabilities and 54 leaders of Organisations of Persons with Disabilities in Bangladesh, Cambodia and Uganda.

International sign language and live English captioning will be provided.
