Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

Eval4Action is organizing a Twitter Chat with parliamentarians, all Eval4Action international and regional partners (VOPEs and EvalYouth chapters) and the campaign co-leaders as panelists for the Chat. The purpose of the Chat is to raise recognition about evaluation being a critical accelerator to achieve the SDGs, in the context of COVID-19.  All national and other partners are invited to participate and support in the Chat.

Please note while the panelists drive the Chat with their responses, the Chat is open to everyone. So please spread the word among your network members and beyond to join the conversation on 21 May.
