F Njahîra Wangarî - Book Chapter
Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

According the the World Bank, taking gender equality into account not only spurs country competitiveness, but also helps obtain better outcomes especially in trade related intervention.
Against the above background, the Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT) Nigeria is inviting you to participate in a 1-day webinar aimed at identifying and assessing the gender dimensions of trade facilitation and logistics initiatives in Nigeria, especially within the context of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).
The event will further seek to recommend workable strategies to foster gender responsiveness in Nigerian customs and border management, trade infrastructure, port efficiency, transport security, logistics and transport services, regional trade corridors and transit and multimodal transport.
