Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is not just a social issue, it’s a systemic challenge that undermines agricultural value chains.
In rural and isolated areas, GBV threatens women’s safety, limits their economic participation, and weakens food security. When women cannot work safely, entire communities lose resilience, and businesses lose productivity. Climate resilience strategies that overlook gendered risks leave communities exposed and women vulnerable.
Ending GBV is essential for building equitable, sustainable, and climate-resilient agri-food systems; and it’s not only a human rights imperative, but also central to climate adaptation and economic stability.
The good news? Solutions work. Programs like the Women’s Safety Accelerator Fund (WSAF) demonstrate that addressing GBV can enhance productivity and strengthen workforce morale and brand reputation. Safe, inclusive workplaces aren’t just good ethics, they’re smart business.

Introduction: As the impact of COVID19 is growing and in-person data is needed more than ever to inform policy and programs, the methods used to collect in-person data and traveling is becoming more challenging and risky. Everyone is exploring how to continue their work through alternative means of reducing in-person interactions and collecting data remotely and safely. Many are considering a shift to mobile data collection or computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI).
SurveyCTO, the most robust mobile data collection platform based on ODK and used in over 165 countries, offers robust CATI functionality like safely administering phone surveys, customizing forms, field plug-ins, requesting consent, and remotely training enumerators to collect high-quality data. SurveyCTO is helping users with a smoother transition to CATI through various ready-to-use CATI kits, webinars, video tutorials, and 24x7 technical support.
As a SurveyCTO service provider, we realized that few professionals might require additional and personal handholding support while moving to phone-based data collection. Hence, we are organizing a 5-session training on mobile data collection using SurveyCTO.
