Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

Outcome Mapping: Dealing with Complexity in Planning, Monitoring & Evaluating Development Interventions (4 day training course)

A 4-day workshop introducing the principles and practice of Outcome Mapping for planning, monitoring and evaluation of development programmes. This course is offered in two parts for which participants can register separately. The first part of the course (2,5 days) will focus on the Intentional Design stage of Outcome Mapping. The second part of the course (1,5 day) will cover the monitoring stage of OM-based programmes and illustrate how OM principles can be used for evaluations (incl. Outcome Harvesting).
