Event Description

Monday 1st October 2018,
Pre-EES2018 workshop - An introduction to prediction modelling, using
EvalC3, by Rick Davies, at Thessaloniki, Greece

Workshop summary:
Methods PW6 - An introduction to prediction modelling, using EvalC3
Rick DAVIES
For: evaluators, donors, managers and implementers.
Level: some knowledge of simple quantitative and qualitative methods.
This workshop is designed to provide a practical introduction to prediction
modeling using EvalC3 (a free Excel application). Prediction/predictive
modeling is the process of creating, testing and validating a model (i.e. a
set of attributes) whose presence and/or absence best predicts the presence
of an outcome of interest. For example, attributes of a training event that
best predict overall trainee satisfaction. Using EvalC3 it can be done with
small and simple data sets (e.g. 30 cases with 10 binary attributes), and
it can be done with readily available and easy to use software, no coding
skills are needed. The workshop' participants will:1. Gain knowledge about
how and when to use all the functions available within EvalC3; 2. Develop
plans to collect and analyse data in their own field of work, using EvalC3
or related software. 3 Learn about other user-friendly predictive modeling
software to use with larger datasets. For more information see:
