This exploratory study foregrounds the largely invisible issue of natal family violence (NFV) in India, exploring its forms, prevalence, and deep, long-term impacts on women's lives. It challenges the myth of the natal home as a safe space and centres survivor voices and lived experiences. The findings expose systemic silences and institutional barriers to justice. It offers vital insights for policy reform, feminist praxis, and deeper societal reflection.

She is a member of the organization Alliance for Community Integration APIC Utopía and co-founder of the collective Mujeres Utopía, a feminist organization that seeks to prevent social and gender violence through comprehensive and inclusive development processes that take into account the voices of young people living in marginalized areas

Laura is a Colombian lawyer currently residing in Bogotá and a specialist in support for victims of armed conflict. She has experience developing organizational processes with Indigenous women in the Caribbean and in other areas of Colombia. Since 2021, she has been part of Global Fund for Children's Youth Leadership Council.
