F Njahîra Wangarî - Book Chapter

Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

Dear colleague,
Do you want to know how to set up monitoring and evaluation (M&E) M&E systems that generate useful information not only for funders for also for your own development initiative and stakeholders involved? Do you want to know how to make the link between strategic and operational planning and management with M&E? Do you want to know how to engage stakeholders in this process and ensure a shared sense of learning and direction? Do you wish to be part of group of international colleagues working in the area of planning, monitoring and evaluation? Do you want to be up to date with the latest information on PME and engage actively in a course that also includes a seminar on hot M&E topics?
This year we had 90 participants in 4 parallel groups in our PPME-managing for impact course! Do you want to be part of the 2014 group but you don’t have your own funding source? Then make sure you register before October 1st so as to become eligible for a NFP fellowship!
