F Njahîra Wangarî - Book Chapter
Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

Hi everyone-
I serve as a Co-Chair for the American Evaluation Association (AEA)'s Topical Interest Group (TIG) on International and Cross-Cultural Evaluation (ICCE). We are currently looking for an interested ICCE TIG member to serve as a Program Co-Chair beginning in 2022. This is a 3-year volunteer position that helps lead the TIG through its primary activities of coordinating the international travel awards, leading proposal review and selection, and serving as a liaison with AEA and the broader set of TIG members.
The Co-Chair will join two other Co-Chairs so it is a team effort and a lot of fun! The time commitment is minimal during most times of the year and picks up around the times of the main activities that we coordinate. It’s a great opportunity to meet other evaluators working in international and cross-cultural evaluation, learn more about the inner workings of AEA, and add a leadership position to your CV. If you or someone you know may be interested in this position or want to find out more, please reach out to me directly at lfrantzen@tccgrp.com.
Thank you!
Lisa Frantzen
