Evalpartners through EvalGender+ http://www.mymande.org/evalgender is aiming to bring together those interested in gender-responsive and equity-focused evaluations. Concept note is attached.

EvalGender+ will be launched at Parliament of Nepal on 25th Nov 2015. We are having a brainstorming meeting in Kathmandu on 24th Nov.Can't attend this meeting but would like to engage in EvalGender+? We need your inputs on the following:

1.     What would EvalGender+ be at its best? What is your dream for EvalGender+? Where do you see it in the year 2025?

2.     Who would be a part of this partnership?

3.     What activities will it be undertaking by 2025?

4.     How would the Evalgender+ be governed?

Please send your inputs in form of text, video or a drawing by 18th Nov. I will compile your responses and share in Kathmandu meeting which will be incorporated in the dream for EvalGender+. I promise to share the common dream back with you.

I have a dream! I have a vision of seeing the EvalGender + in 2015 becoming a vibrant global forum and an advocate network in arena of gender responsive and social equity development evaluation. It will be a forum where new ideas on the issues conceive, born and grow and propagate.

In its journey to make development evaluation endeavors inclusive of gender and social equity, EvalGender shall collaborate and work with all actors ( government, academia, private sector, global ( UN agencies) , continental (like African Union and European Union), and regional organizations, professional and evaluation associations and communities operating at various levels, NGOs, etc.). The EvalGender + shall in place a more decentralized and participatory management system. It shall operate ranging from country, continental to global level.

Among other activities, the next will be few activities of the EvalGender +
• Organizing global dialogue forums on Gender inclusive and social equity evaluation and related issues
• Advocating countries to have evaluation policies and legal framework system inclusive of gender and social equity
• Providing in collaboration with other actors like evaluation associations and organizations capacity development activities to government officials in different parts of the world
• Advocating universities in developing counties to design undergraduate and postgraduate programs on evaluation in general
• Publishing periodical bulletins and journals written in multiple languages so as to facilitate the exchange of ideas and best practices across the globe

Once again, I have a dream! In 2025, EvalGender + will be a global network for gender inclusive and social equity evaluation.

Q 1 What is your dream for EvalGender+ 

EvalGender+ should promote in the Governement the idea of introducing the geneder

aspect educational programs and system of evaluation of all aspects of gender issue in

formal education. Permanenet evaluation of all aspects of geneder isse (women

empolyment, entrepreneurship, gender and LGBT) should aimed to eradicate this issue on

national level.

2.Where do you see it in the year 2015

Ministry of Education to implement at least 5 impact evaluations to see the progress in

gender aspects on national level.

My dream of EvalGender concerns gender-responsive and equity-focused evaluations where both gender are involved in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of policies, programs and projects pertaining agenda of evaluation conducted.  From now till 2025, self-sustainability in addition to capacity building of the corporate members will be key.

 

Who would be a part of this partnership?

 

The key stakeholders in programs and projects to be involved for the purpose of learning and improving on other similar ones in future. This will too enhance equitable distribution of resources by putting gender into considerations.

  

What activities will it be undertaking by 2025?

 

From now till 2025, self-sustainability in addition to capacity building of the corporate members will be key.

 

How would the Evalgender+ be governed?

 

The secretariat with representations from all over the world to ensure acceptability of evaluations as well as gender representation to be balanced. The regions which may lack qualified people, capacity building is recommended prior to appointments.

In terms of a vision for eval gender + I would like to see it framed around the plus- that is, focusing on equity issues which include gender as one of the groups to consider.  Therefore a name that focused on equity would be more appropriate to my vision.

My dream of a EvalGender is to ensure gender integration agenda and methodologies in each and every evaluation conducted , including creation of an enabling situation in institutional behavior.

Development stakeholders from public and private fields as well as the CSO professionals and academicians

Developing gender mainstreaming strategies into evaluation concepts and methodologies; capacity building in gender responsive M&E tools

The Eval gender+ should be governed through COE secretariat and holding e-communication through updates.  

 

1.     What would EvalGender+ be at its best? What is your dream for EvalGender+? Where do you see it in the year 2025?

It's best is organizing different professionals who has different experiences to share each other. 

My dream is to see gender issues are in the heart of all development agendas practically.

By 2025 it would have better capacity to influence organizations on gender equality with different capacity development activities.

2.     Who would be a part of this partnership?

All those interested for gender equality should be part of this partnership, includes international organizations and well known individuals who has influential capacity.

3.     What activities will it be undertaking by 2025?

Organize capacity development activities for the needy with its self sustainability. 

4.     How would the Evalgender+ be governed?

It would be governed by employed secretary with regional coordinators.

Dear Rituu My answers to your questions 1. What would EvalGender+ be at its best? What is your dream for EvalGender+? Where do you see it in the year 2025? Gender should be mainstreamed with all the development plans and processes then it would automatically be a part of evaluation. There are queries that when gender is not in planning how it can be a part of evaluation. It is possible both ways. Evalgender can create awareness about importance of gender lence in planning and gradually it will be apart of planning and implementation process. My dream is to see a society with equity and equality. 2. Who would be a part of this partnership? Everybody should be sensitized about 'gender' and be encouraged to be part of it. The Government should play a proactive role as it plays an important role in development. There is also a need for change in steriotypic attitudes and mindstes and local level 3. What activities will it be undertaking by 2025? Sensitization, awareness, capacity building so that an enabling environm,ent could be created 4. How would the Evalgender+ be governed? Through participation of all the stakeholders.

1  At its best EvalGender+ will be a global movement recognised across the world as the collection of passion and commitment to push for true, tranformative and sustainable gender equality through M & E at all levels of development action.

3 Global convention & celebrations, global awards & recognitions, publications  in all major languages of primers, comics,art, - seriuos books & journals
 
4 A loose global network of groups, associations, organisations and or institutions that identify with and sign or adopt/adapt an EvalGender Code of practice with a balanced elected Council of representatives of groups as determined through a collaborative process of identification e.g. geograhical or sectoral, or other factor. 
This council should also include reps from all the EvalP  component groups, the private sector as well as Non UN actors.

My dream for EvalGender+...

  1. What would EvalGender+ be at its best? What is your dream for EvalGender+? Where do you see it in the year 2025?

I envision EvalGender+ as the movement to promote equity-focused and gender responsive evaluation worldwide. EvalGender+ would contribute to more sustainable, equitable and gender responsive policies advocating for effective gender responsive evaluation.  Also, EvalGender+ would act as the platform to help advocate for equity-focused and gender responsive evaluation of the SDGs. In 2025, I would see national governments, regional and international organizations using equity-focused and gender-responsive approaches in their evaluation frameworks. This would entail all new policies to have incorporated an equity-focused and gender responsive approach.  This will create more equitable and sustainable societies.

  1. Who would be a part of this partnership?

Beyond current member organizations which include VOPEs, NGOs, UN organizations, multilateral organizations, EvalGender+ could also partner with women’s movements; national evaluation systems; bilateral donors and private foundations

  1. What activities will it be undertaking by 2025?

Most importantly, EvalGender+ will provide guidelines to develop equity-focused and gender responsive frameworks to be adapted and used at national, regional and international level to evaluate SDGs with such an approach. EvalGender+ will also promote and advocate for equity-focused and gender responsive evaluation among evaluation and policy groups and networks.

New Year Resolution 2016 for  Gender Equality + 

Preparing a declaration document call "Act Of  Gender Equality +by 2020" signed  by all nations  assured that  gender equality  will honoured  from health to justice to educations to social integrations to  equal recognition in the workforce with equal pay  in whatever profession their in, equal representations and more than anything respect and dignity . 

Also has women we too must  responsible, responsive to change the social pattern has we declared  and perceived  it too.
