Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is not just a social issue, it’s a systemic challenge that undermines agricultural value chains.
In rural and isolated areas, GBV threatens women’s safety, limits their economic participation, and weakens food security. When women cannot work safely, entire communities lose resilience, and businesses lose productivity. Climate resilience strategies that overlook gendered risks leave communities exposed and women vulnerable.
Ending GBV is essential for building equitable, sustainable, and climate-resilient agri-food systems; and it’s not only a human rights imperative, but also central to climate adaptation and economic stability.
The good news? Solutions work. Programs like the Women’s Safety Accelerator Fund (WSAF) demonstrate that addressing GBV can enhance productivity and strengthen workforce morale and brand reputation. Safe, inclusive workplaces aren’t just good ethics, they’re smart business.

Institute of Applied Manpower Research based in Narela, Delhi conducted M&E training for government officers (Associate Directors Planning) from the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The IAMR M&E team is led by Dr Rashmi Agrawal and includes Dr G P Joshi, Dr Shachi, Dr Sanchita and others. Guest faculty Rituu B Nanda introduced Constellation's strength-based approach community life competence approach (http://communitylifecompetence.org/en/) to 16 participants. Participants declared their support to the year 2015 as international year of Evaluation. They formulated action plans to use community life competence in their work in planning and M&E in the coming year.
Said Rupinder Kaur, " I will use SALT in my work with medical colleges both in planning and monitoring. It will provide richer data and engage the people I work with. We focus too much on quantitative aspects and ignore the stories of the people."
Mir Bilal, "I think that Government officers can better apply SALT because of their day to day dealing with Subordinates and public. By appreciation of our subordinates they can work better, listening to them and will boost their morale...to approach like human beings will stimulate them , they will also apply SALT in their life and the day will come everyone will get his or her value and also better outputs."

Here is a comment from Jan Somers, SALT facilitator from Belgium. Thanks Jan!
A generative evaluation based on an appreciative dialogue helps people to see evaluation as an essential part of moving forward and them to take steps. The auto evaluation process with 5 levels towards dream realisation is such an example of generative evaluation. Much more powerful than a job satisfaction measurement
Govt officials would definitely perform well as a team when SALT applied . I am working in state of M.P. this would go a long way !!!!!!!!! Great work.....
