Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

South Asia Regional Consultation on National Evaluation Policies - The report online now

Parliamentarians Forum for Development Evaluation with support from EvalPartners, International Organization for Cooperation in Evaluation (IOCE) and UN Women and in collaboration with Sri Lanka Evaluation Association (SLEvA) organized South Asia Regional consultation on National Evaluation Policies which was held in Colombo from 18 to 19 September. The overall objective of the initiative is to create an enabling environment that fosters and promotes development of equity focused and gender-responsive national evaluation policy. 

The two days programme discussed importance of NEP, examples from various countries, preparation of country work plans for the NEP process and how to work with stakeholders in the process. All eight countries came up with road maps to process NEP in respective countries. The report is available on the PFDE website http://www.pfde.net/images/pdf/rcrv1.pdf.
