Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is not just a social issue, it’s a systemic challenge that undermines agricultural value chains.
In rural and isolated areas, GBV threatens women’s safety, limits their economic participation, and weakens food security. When women cannot work safely, entire communities lose resilience, and businesses lose productivity. Climate resilience strategies that overlook gendered risks leave communities exposed and women vulnerable.
Ending GBV is essential for building equitable, sustainable, and climate-resilient agri-food systems; and it’s not only a human rights imperative, but also central to climate adaptation and economic stability.
The good news? Solutions work. Programs like the Women’s Safety Accelerator Fund (WSAF) demonstrate that addressing GBV can enhance productivity and strengthen workforce morale and brand reputation. Safe, inclusive workplaces aren’t just good ethics, they’re smart business.

The role will contribute to business development, program management, research, and technical delivery across climate mitigation, carbon markets, and energy transition. This course is designed to equip participants with gender mainstreaming skills for better management of community-based development programmes. The course will further provide participants with a concrete ‘step-by-step’ approach including hints and guidelines for developing and implementing a successful project from a gender-based perspective in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs.
In this course, several issues and problem areas of project management for innovation will be covered. Particular attention will be paid to delivering products and services with speed and quality. Special emphasis will be placed on the importance of the project “users” and how project management involves them. The overall benefit of this course is to provide participants with skills for gender mainstreaming in design and implementation of successful projects. The course can be used to establish/strengthen gender mainstreaming strategies of project management policies and practices both in the public and private sector.
Target Audience:
This course aims at project staff, advisers, leaders and members of coalitions and Networks, staff of NGOs and CBOs, donor agency field workers, volunteers, development actors, trainers, business students, government officials, desk officers and consultants, involved in facilitating integration of non-discriminatory behavior and equality between men and women. A focus is put on the participant as agent of change in his/her organisation. For this course familiarity with project management will be beneficial.
Course Fee:
The course tuition fee is US$300. Course fees include access to all course materials, expert support, assignments as well as postage and packaging of a certificate. The course fee is payable once confirmation of participation has been issued.
There is a limited amount of partial scholarships available for applicants from developing countries, based on financial need.
