Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

We are happy to announce that our new National Evaluation Capacities (NEC) e-discussion will start on the 27th of April, next Monday and finishes on the 18th of May, so we kindly ask you to save the date! This community of practice will engage on “How the NEC Conference in Thailand can enhance the evaluation capacities in a national level and help to develop the Sustainable Development Goals”.

 

The discussion will be based on the pre-discussion paper International Conference on National Evaluation Capacities (NEC) 2015. We really would appreciate your thoughts about the subject.
