F Njahîra Wangarî - Book Chapter

Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

Scholarship to virtually attend 22 one-day workshops

The Claremont Evaluation Center and EvalPartners, with the financial support of Rockefeller Foundation, are proud to announce the creation of a scholarship fund to financially support evaluators working in, or originally from, a country located in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia, or East and Central Europe (non EU countries), and the Middle East to attend the on-line 2015 Professional Development Workshop Series on Evaluation and Applied Research Methods to be held on 20 - 24 August 2015. 

Available to attendees from across the world via Online Classroom, the 2015 series includes 22 one-day workshops for you to choose from, each one taught by leading experts in the field. A number of exciting topics will be taught this year, including (but not limited to): Positive Human Resources Development; Educational Evaluation; Basics of Evaluation & Applied Research Methods; Quasi-Experimental Methods; Cultural Responsiveness in Applied Research and Evaluation; Introduction to Qualitative Methods, and many more!
