Women empowerment is critical as open data mapping for sustainable agriculture at global and local levels. Data about where and who is empowered is also critical as knowing where and who owns a parcel of land for agriculture. ‘The empowered woman is powerful beyond measure and beautiful beyond description’. She is an epitome of a society that is empowered. Empowering women to drive open data mapping in agriculture is a sure trigger of multiple and measurable targets of SDGs in developing African countries. Issues about women land rights, agricultural sustainability and the SDGs can be tackled with open data mapping.
