The forum intends to generate a multi-dimensional discussion on how women have been and are represented in the Parliament and their journeys thereto while also understanding their challenges and barriers. It will also include a critical analysis of the initiatives taken by the government, non-government organizations and political parties to increase participation of women in Lok Sabha elections and how effective they have been in creating the required space for the women in the current political system. The effort is to provide a platform for a discussion that assimilates the gender perspective in the election system across voters, campaigners and legislators.
