Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

Altamont Group is seeking a French speaking Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant to support our client as a REMOTE Country Coordinator for an Endline Study, with the following key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with in-country consultants across 6 countries in West Africa, ensuring they comply with our data gathering protocols and budgetary parameters.
  • Remotely oversee data collection via daily check ins and review of qualitative and quantitative data collected via Kobo.
  • Validate data for all 6 countries.
  • Complete initial data analysis providing qualitative and quantitative findings as well as high-level findings report.
