F Njahîra Wangarî - Book Chapter
Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

Sharing Marco's useful message below,
Dear colleagues,
Reaching out citizens through mass media to explain the power and role of evaluation in policy making is crucial to strengthen the demand and use of evaluation. The Evaluation Cooperation Group (the network of Independent Evaluation Offices of the multilateral banks) recently organized a TV talk show at CNBC Africa. Panelists included the Directors of the Independent Evaluation Offices of multilateral banks, including: Rakesh Nangia (Africa Development Bank); Caroline Heider (World Bank Group); Cheryl Grey (Inter-American Bank) and Joseph Eichenberger (European Bank for Reconstruction & Development). The video is available at: http://www.cnbcafrica.com/video/?bctid=3521949380001
The Evaluation Society of Kenya (ESK ), led by its chair, Jennifer Mutua, is also reaching out mass media. EvalPartners, is also trying to develop a strategy in this direction.
Thanks a lot to the abovementioned evaluation leaders to inspire us!
Best regards
Marco Segone
