F Njahîra Wangarî - Book Chapter

Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

About the Opportunity: The 4th Wheel is applying for a monitoring & evaluation support contract for a large-scale skills development program spanning multiple countries in Asia-Pacific. As part of our proposal, we are building a network of qualified language consultants who can support our M&E framework implementation.

We are specifically seeking consultants with native/fluent proficiency in:

  • Vietnamese
  • Korean
  • Bahasa Indonesia
  • Mandarin
  • Japanese

What We're Looking For: Experienced consultants who can support framework development, tool design, partner consultations, data collection, monitoring, training, analytics, and reporting activities. This is a paid consultancy opportunity with flexible, project-based engagement over a 2+ year period.
