Evaluation of UN Women’s Work on the Care Economy in East and Southern Africa
Evaluation of UN Women's work on the Care Economy in East and Southern Africa - Evaluation Report
A regional study of gender equality observatories in West and Central Africa, carried out by Claudy Vouhé for UN Women
Sources: UN Women
This regional study offers an inventory and analysis of the legal framework of gender observatories, their attributions, functions and missions. It is based on exchanges with 21 countries, in particular the eleven countries that have created observatories. It compares the internal organisation and budgets of the observatories between countries, looks at operational practices, in particular the degree of involvement in the collection and use of data, and identifies obstacles and good practices in terms of influencing pro-gender equality public policies. Finally, the study draws up a list of strategic recommendations intended for observatories, supervisory bodies and technical and financial partners.

This article focused on the story of community living in a wildlife corridor that links India and Nepal, namely the Khata Corridor, which bridges Bardiya National Park of Nepal and Katarnia Wildlife Sanctuary of Uttar Pradesh, India.
This article revealed how the wildlife mobility in the corridor affects community livelihoods, mobility, and social inclusion, with a sense of differential impacts on farming and marginalised communities.

Dear colleagues,
Please do pass this on to your networks. We are looking for those who use OM (fully or partly) and can contribute to the resource. We will be acknowledging all who contribute. Please take a moment for the email and do fill in the attached form. Your inputs are extremely valued and appreciated!
From Heidi Schaeffer, OMLC Learning Community Steward
Sonal Zaveri and I are working on a practical resource to strengthen capacity across the OMLC to embed equity and gender-transformative thinking and practice in Outcome Mapping. This resource is aimed at field-level practitioners using OM, or with experience and interest in the use of OM to strengthen equity and gender transformative change. The resource will include guidance and case examples derived in part from conversations with OMLC members. Several OMLC members are participating as part of the research and collaboration group, at this point including: Julius Nyangaga, Florence Etta and Sarah Earl. If you have any questions or want to become involved with the resource please complete the survey as a first step and let us know your interests.
The survey is designed for practitioners who have tried to incorporate equity, anti-racism/anti-oppression and gender transformative approaches in their use of Outcome Mapping during M&E design and evaluation.
We invite you to take about 15 minutes (there are only 9 questions) to share your experiences, challenges and successes. Your contributions are sincerely appreciated. With your permission your name will be acknowledged in the resource. If you are interested, you may be able to share your experience in a webinar for the OMLC later this year. Thank you for your time and support of this work.
Please complete this survey by Wednesday June 30th https://forms.gle/mA8rY14E7zASXigT6
You can write to Simon Hearn, coordinator@outcomemapping.ca if you have any questions about the survey.
Please do respond... we are co-creating a valuable resource!
Best
Sonal and Heidi
