Evaluation of UN Women’s Work on the Care Economy in East and Southern Africa

A regional study of gender equality observatories in West and Central Africa, carried out by Claudy Vouhé for UN Women

Sources: UN Women

This regional study offers an inventory and analysis of the legal framework of gender observatories, their attributions, functions and missions. It is based on exchanges with 21 countries, in particular the eleven countries that have created observatories. It compares the internal organisation and budgets of the observatories between countries, looks at operational practices, in particular the degree of involvement in the collection and use of data, and identifies obstacles and good practices in terms of influencing pro-gender equality public policies. Finally, the study draws up a list of strategic recommendations intended for observatories, supervisory bodies and technical and financial partners.

Tara Prasad Gnyawali Article - 2025

This article focused on the story of community living in a wildlife corridor that links India and Nepal, namely the Khata Corridor, which bridges Bardiya National Park of Nepal and Katarnia Wildlife Sanctuary of Uttar Pradesh, India.
This article revealed how the wildlife mobility in the corridor affects community livelihoods, mobility, and social inclusion, with a sense of differential impacts on farming and marginalised communities.

Thanks for posting!

I am interested in writing this type of proposal and has not been opportune to be involved in one.

Please i want an idea on how i can learn how to putting up a proposal of this nature.

Thanks in anticipation of your favourable response.

Hi Ugwuibe,

Technical proposal is in other words your evaluation plan in response to the Terms of reference that is shared. In the technical proposal you will have to show that you have understood the context, purpose and objectives of the evaluation. You design your methodology in details based on the scope and scale of the evaluation. Evaluation matrix should be part of the technical prposal where you will reshape/ add / delete evaluation questions and map how those will be responded (some of them through desk review, som will require data collection throguh surveys, interviews, focus group discussions etc). You should also include the team that meets the requirements in the ToR and justify, if different from what is required.

Financial proposal will include all costs associated with the evaluation as per technical proposal of yours.

The RFP document has information on what technical and financial proposals should include and how it will be rated.

Try to google evaluation proposals or evaluation plans or bidding for evaluation and you will come across lots of resources that will help you to learn more and participate in the bidding in the future.

Good luck,

Farhod
