F Njahîra Wangarî - Book Chapter

Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

It relates strongly to the evaluation of public policies and gender equality by parliaments, as it is about Gender responsive budgeting.

Dear Friends,

I am Jaideep Visave from Italy. I am having 9 years of work experience in developing and implementing disaster risk reduction programmes in India and Italy. However, I am not enough experienced in M&E as such. in order to be adept at it, I have joined this discussion group.

I am interested in learning more about M&E specifically in Gender issues. So, I will be very helpful for suggesting the online/face-to-face training courses etc.

I am also thinking to do my PhD in M&E in Gender issues.

Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Thanking You,

Yours Sincerely,

Hi Jaideep,

On Institute of Social Studies Trust (ISST) website under publications you will find resources on gender lens in evaluation. If you look in this platform under blogs and discussions there will be many resources. These will also give you ideas for your Phd. ISST conducts a course on feminist evaluation periodically. We will share on the network when we hold the course.

All the best,

Rituu
