F Njahîra Wangarî - Book Chapter

Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

Global Parliamentarians Forum for Evaluation (GPFE) - Launching New Website & Social Media

Global Parliamentarians Forum for Evaluation was launched at the Parliament of Nepal on 25th November 2015. The goal of GPFE is to advance the enabling environment for nationally owned, transparent, systematic and standard evaluation processes in line with the principles of “No one left behind” and National Evaluation Policies with equity-focused and gender responsive lens at the country level that are aimed at contributing to good governance and sustainable development.

After weeks of hard work, it is a pleasure for us to officially launch the new advocacy tools of the Global Parliamentarians Forum for Evaluation. You can now find us on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and through our Website.

Through new communication tools, we hope to reach more parliamentarians with the evaluation community to improve the use and demand of evaluations. Developing and strengthening evaluation policies in countries is important for good governance and effective development and, for this purpose, engaging governments, communities and parliamentarians is a key aspect.

As an advocacy initiative, we have also created a website for our new campaign “Parliamentarians for Evaluation”. More information about this has been already announced.

I`ve been trying to set up an Evaluation chapter her in the Dominican Repùblic, but we need to organize a presential course here in orther to prepare a group of prfessional from diffents àreas, and concluding with the Evaluation Chapter conformed. If you know some organization that can support us, please.
