The article, led by Linnea Zimmerman examines how opportunity structures (parental influence and neighborhood context) affects individual agency among boys and girls in Kinshasa, DRC. We used longitudinal data to identify three distinct groups for boys and girls in each domain. Parental monitoring was associated with the development of both domains for boys, but showed no association for girls. Conversely, parental closeness was more strongly associated with development for girls, than for boys. Neighborhood safety was associated with greater Voice and Freedom of Movement for both boys and girls.

The Strengthening Community Ownership in Evaluation Theme Group that is part of the Asia Pacific Regional Strategy invites you to join the theme’s latest advocacy drive, the #EachOneTeachOne campaign launching online on 06 July 2022 at 6 pm IST organized by APEA, APC Hub, and #Eval4Action Campaign.
‘Each One Teach One' is a call to action to meaningfully engage the community in evaluation, as the community brings in new ideas, simple and fundamentals of evaluation. The campaign calls on the evaluators, community leaders, and the general public that commits them to recognize the role of community ownership in the evaluation and to raise awareness and enhance knowledge through their real and meaningful engagement. The 'Each One Teach One' campaign will be released at the launch event, on asiapacificeval.org
'Each One Teach One' campaign supports the regional advocacy efforts for influential evaluation, including strengthening community ownership in evaluation. We are actively engaging in this drive and we hope you will join us to support and mobilize your network as well. The “Each One Teach One” drive is open to everyone!
