Dear Colleagues,
We invite those attending the Women Deliver conference in Copenhagen in May to participate in a partner event hosted by Palladium and the USAID-funded MEASURE Evaluation and Health Policy Plus (HP+) projects. This skills-building workshop is open to all Women Deliver participants and is particularly relevant for attendees from NGOs, universities, donor organizations, and governments engaged in designing, implementing, and monitoring and evaluating family planning and maternal, neonatal, and child health (FP/MNCH) policies and programs in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
About the Session
The international development community increasingly acknowledges the influence of gender on health outcomes; as such, programs that address or transform gender norms and roles through their design, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation strategies are critical to improving health.
This event will share findings related to FP/MNCH from the systematic review Transforming Gender Norms, Roles, and Power Dynamics for Better Health. By the end of the session, participants will understand the review findings and be able to discuss and apply evidence-based strategies that transform gender norms, roles, and relationships for successful improvements in FP/MNCH outcomes. Participants will be able to incorporate these strategies in their own programs and policies to improve health and gender equality outcomes. Furthermore, they will learn new techniques and enhance their skills to measure the impact of gender integration on health outcomes. Please note that spaces are limited so registration requests will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration: Open now! Register here.

About the Systematic Review
Transforming Gender Norms, Roles, and Power Dynamics for Better Health assesses the extent to which gender-integrated health programs in LMICs accommodate or transform gender norms, roles, and relationships; identifies key gender strategies in health programs in LMICs; understands how gender-integrated programs impact a variety of health outcomes; and identifies the quantitative and qualitative methods used to evaluate gender-integrated health programs. The review was completed by the USAID-funded Health Policy Project (the HP+ predecessor project), MEASURE Evaluation, the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), and the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW). The review is online at: http://www.healthpolicyproject.com/index.cfm?ID=publications&get=pubID&pubID=381
Interested in how gender-integrated programs are monitored and evaluated? Gender Counts: A systematic review of evaluations of gender-integrated health interventions in low and middle income countries examined evaluations of gender-integrated health programs with regard to their theory of change, study design, gender integration in data collection, analysis, and gender measures used. The review is online at: http://www.cpc.unc.edu/measure/resources/publications/ja-16-208
We look forward to seeing you there!
