F Njahîra Wangarî - Book Chapter

Abstract
"This chapter blends African oral and written narratives, lived experiences with a genetic chronic disability and a Roman Catholic upbringing. These will be interrogated to illustrate the role of alternative explanations in influencing advocacy and activism for the lives, wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Particularly, this chapter is an exploration of self-identity and how persons with disabilities are conditioned to view ourselves in specific ways while highlighting alternative perceptions available is presented by the author. It engages the works of several African and African-descendent authors who feature persons with disabilities as characters in their books and relies on narrative prosthesis as the basis for this engagement."

New book 'Making Evaluation Sensitive to Gender and Human Rights. Different Approaches'

Dear all,
It's my pleasure to share with you our new book 'Making Evaluation Sensitive to Gender and Human Rights. Different Approaches'. I shared with you before but in Spanish. It is in English now and we hope it will be useful for you.
The book is written by Juan Andrés Ligero, Carmen Mormeneo, María Bustelo and I and it is based on a two years research funded by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. It explores different ways for including a gender perspective and a Human Right Based Approach into evaluation and presents the existing theoretical and methodological approaches to do it. In any case, it is not a guideline. On the other hand, it is pursues to show the diversity of existing evaluation approaches in this regard.
