Dear colleagues:
Given the gender inequalities that exist in mobile phone access in many parts of the world, what can be done to reduce bias in phone surveys? Please join us for this upcoming webinar where IDinsight will lead a discussion exploring answers to this question.

Date - Wednesday, April 7th, 2021, at 9 AM ET

Having adapted swiftly to phone surveying in 2020, the team at IDinsight have had a good deal of opportunity to reflect on the process, including concerns around bias. They found that in some survey populations, the level of mobile phone access women in households have is unequal to men, however, there are strategies teams can use to make phone surveys more inclusive and better cater to women.
Whether you’re specifically interested in surveying women over the phone, or want to minimize respondent gender bias, you’ll learn to improve your phone survey practice by attending this webinar. Gender bias in surveys isn’t a new subject, but having to navigate it over the phone is part of the many challenges we’re looking to address with collaborators in the Safe People + Data Initiative. IDinsight has a wide range of advice drawn from phone survey contexts such as India, Kenya, Uganda, and West Africa, much of which should be generalizable.
In this webinar you’ll learn more about the following in relation to phone surveying:
Participants will gain important insights into the planning and execution stages of phone surveys, to help minimize gender bias. This event will be helpful to those who are new to and experienced with conducting phone surveys and are interested in ways to help improve outcomes.
